This is a big, bold, 100% Cabernet from winemaker Rob McDonald; 95% of which comes from the renowned Beckstoffer Vineyard in the Red Hills of Lake County and the balance from the Coombsville area of Napa. It possesses concentrated aromas of dark, bittersweet chocolate and extremely ripe cherries and cassis. Subtle scents of licorice and eucalyptus mingle in as well. This full-bodied wine bursts with dark flavors of black cherry, cassis, blueberry and blackberry followed by a touch of oak spice, subtle peppermint and vanilla.
