A smooth refreshing lager with a delicate, slightly spicy hop aroma that complements the malty body of this beer.
In the 1700’s one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado’s hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!
This beer uses a proportion of rye in the mash which lends an unmistakable sharp and distinct flavor. Seasoned with pungent American hops, this beer is our designated "beer drinkers" beer.
Chateau Haut Brion Pessac Leognan Offers subtle and complex aromas, with violet, cedar and blackberry. Full-bodied, with ultra fine tannins and a very long finish. Tight and curled up in a ball. Best after 2015. 11,000 cases made. –JS Wine Spectator 94 points (May 31 2009)
Château Mouton Rothschild Pauillac 2007 Wine Enthusiast - The wood element is important here, but it is based on a firm Cabernet Sauvignon structure, dry but rich tannins. The wine is a great success for the vintage, giving sweetness, ripe fruit that only shows light extraction, and dark plum and berry flavors. The feeling is of polished fruit and wood, rounded but always dense. Score: 95. —Roger Voss, April 01, 2010. Wine Spectator - Focused and rich, showing blueberry, blackberry and dark licorice aromas, with hints of mineral and flowers. Full-bodied, with a seamless core of fruit and tannins. Long and caressing on the finish. Best after 2013. Score: 92. —James Suckling, March 31, 2010.
