Rod Strong recognized the Alexander Valley as an ideal place to grow cabernet sauvignon as far back as 1971, when he planted our first cabernet vineyard on a hill known as Alexander’s Crown. Today we proudly farm over 200 acres of estate cabernet on the benches and hillsides above the valley floor, where cabernet displays the finest expression of the Alexander Valley terroir.  

A combination of estate grown and locally farmed fruit, we source the benchland and alluvial soils from some 300 acres of vineyard in the Russian River, Chalk Hill, and Sonoma Coast appellations in the making of this wine.

Plum and blueberry flavors predominate in this soft, rich, mouth filling merlot, and are enhanced by aging in small oak barrels for a toasty, spicy vanilla character, and a lingering berry-cream finish

Supple in texture, with rose petal and red fruit aromas, this lively, medium bodied wine is aged entirely in small French oak barrels, which adds a subtle, toasty vanilla character and a hint of spice.

An abundance of cherry and plum fruit flavors are backed by a rich, balanced structure for an intensely complex Merlot. Silky, full-flavored, firm, and built for today’s enjoyment with smooth tannins and lush layers of flavor.

The 2005 Napa Valley has a dark ruby color and a nose of cassis syrup, chocolate and baking spices. This incredibly concentrated wine has a fruity attack, great body and integrated tannins in the medium length finish. It will continue to improve through 2028 given proper cellaring.

Simi Cabernet has a fresh bouquet of blueberry, cherry, cedar box and a hint of chocolate; soft cherry fruit laced with youthful, supporting wood tannins.
